Building Partnerships in Rogaška Slatina
The workshop kicked off on May 14th with productive meetings in the elegant spa town of Rogaška Slatina. Known for its healing mineral waters and belle époque architecture, this charming destination provided the perfect backdrop for networking with tourism professionals from across Slovenia and beyond.
These initial meetings were crucial for establishing new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships within Slovenia’s tourism industry. The collaborative spirit and professionalism of our Slovenian colleagues immediately set a positive tone for the entire event.
Discovering Slovenia’s Hidden Treasures: The Study Tour Experience
Day 1: Underground Wonders and Natural Marvels
The study tour on May 15th and 16th took us on an unforgettable journey through some of Slovenia’s most spectacular destinations. Our first stop was the Idrija Mercury Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a fascinating glimpse into 500 years of mining history. Walking through the underground tunnels, we gained a deeper appreciation for this unique cultural landmark that perfectly combines historical significance with adventure tourism potential.
From the depths of the earth, we traveled to the breathtaking Soča Valley, where the emerald-green Soča River winds through dramatic Alpine scenery. The canyon’s turquoise waters and surrounding mountains create one of Europe’s most photogenic landscapes – a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Day 2: Alpine Adventures and Adrenaline
Our second day brought us to Kranjska Gora, nestled in the heart of the Julian Alps. This picturesque mountain town serves as a gateway to Triglav National Park and offers year-round appeal for outdoor enthusiasts.
The highlight of our adventure was visiting the legendary Planica Ski Jump and experiencing the thrilling zipline. Standing at the base of these towering ski jumps, where world records are regularly broken, was truly awe-inspiring. The zipline experience added an extra dose of adrenaline to our trip, showcasing Slovenia’s growing reputation as an adventure tourism destination.
A Memorable Farewell
Our study tour concluded with an elegant banquet at Jezerski dvori, where we had the pleasure of reconnecting with our long-standing partners from Hotel Paka Velenje and Jezero Hotel Bohinj. These relationships, built over years of successful collaboration, are the foundation of the authentic experiences we offer our clients.
The evening was filled with warm conversations, shared experiences, and exciting plans for future partnerships. It reminded us why personal connections remain at the heart of exceptional travel experiences.
One of the most significant outcomes of our participation in SIW 2025 was the opportunity to expand our portfolio of Slovenian hotels and accommodations.
