At Click and Book Travel, we believe that the strongest teams aren’t just built-in meeting rooms—they’re shaped through shared experiences that bring out our creativity and let us connect on a personal level. That’s why we regularly venture out on what we like to call “side quests”—team” activities that take us away from our screens and into new, engaging environments.

Why We Chose a Pottery Team-Building Event

Last month, our reservations, contracting, and sales teams traded our keyboards for clay when we spent an afternoon at a local ceramic studio for our pottery team-building event. As someone who spends most days optimizing travel packages and fine-tuning relationships with partners and clients, getting our hands literally dirty was both refreshing and surprisingly therapeutic!

The Creative Process Unfolds

The studio welcomed us with clay and wooden modules, along with some wine and cookies, and an enthusiastic instructor who quickly walked us through the basics. Nataša from our sales team was doing some preparation before joining the class, and was laughing uncontrollably as her first attempt at centering clay resulted in what she called “the leaning tower of ceramic.” Meanwhile, our usually reserved business representative, Zorica, revealed another side of herself, singing cheerfully while crafting a special mug inscribed with her husband’s and child’s names. Little Ana was quietly focused throughout the session, and to everyone’s surprise, she created a beautiful sea-themed mug that impressed us all with its detail and creativity.

Discovering New Connections Through Clay

What struck us most about our pottery team-building event wasn’t just the creative process, but how our office dynamics shifted in this new setting. Colleagues that typically only discuss close dates with, were suddenly sharing stories about how much they love fruits, flowers, and the seaside, which were all motives that were on the cups The concentration on everyone’s faces as they focused on their pieces—tongues slightly out, brows furrowed—was both endearing and hilarious.

From Studio to Home: Our Ceramic Creations

By the end of the session, our collection was impressively diverse: coffee mugs with company inside jokes painted on them, small decorative vases, and even a set of matching espresso cups that now have a permanent home in our office kitchen. Milena, our business manager, crafted a lopsided but lovable mug that had her daughter’s name on it, which she now proudly uses in our office for coffee and tea.

Two weeks later, when our pieces were fired and ready, the excitement was palpable as we unwrapped each creation. Many became heartfelt gifts for family members—we all brought them back home or to the office.

Building Culture Through Creative Side Quests

These side quests, particularly our pottery team-building event, have become essential to our company culture. In an industry where we’re constantly helping others plan their perfect getaways, we’ve found that our own mini-adventures strengthen our connections and refresh our creativity. Whether we’re throwing clay, attempting escape rooms, or having cooking competitions, the laughter and shared experiences follow us back to the office, infusing our work environment with genuine closeness.

Looking Forward to Our Next Adventure

Next month, we’re preparing another mini-event for our team. If my ceramic mug is any indication of my artistic abilities, it should be another memorable day of creative “masterpieces” and team bonding. I’m already looking forward to seeing what hidden talents emerge this time!

At Click and Book Travel, we’re not just colleagues—we’re a team that creates, learns, and grows together, both in and out of the office. After all, in a business dedicated to creating memorable experiences for our clients, we’ve found incredible value in creating our own through activities like our pottery team-building event.
